Book Description:

It was only supposed to be a one night thing…
Will Delaney and Gracie Alexander are little more than acquaintances when fate lands them in same place at the same time. One drunken hookup later, they decide that the best course of action for all involved is to pretend it never happened.
Will’s recently divorced. Gracie’s perennially single.
Upon first glance, they have absolutely nothing in common.
They both agree on one thing: they’re not looking for a relationship.
The only problem is that they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
Can two people who have sworn off love forever find it in the most unexpected setting?

Book Excerpt

I awoke in my new favorite position:  wrapped in Will’s arms.  I snuggled into his embrace, relishing the feel of his bare skin against mine.  His grip around me tightened, a reflex even in slumber.  I was certain he was still asleep - his deep, even breathing was just this side of a full on snore.
Sunlight flooded through the window in my bedroom.  Even though the temperature outside was well below freezing, you’d have thought it was summer in my apartment.  Somehow the tension and the uncertainty of the previous night - of the past week, really - had vanished, leaving behind the warmth of an emerging plan.
The new job could work.  Fort Wayne could work.  Will and I could continue being uncommitted to one another.  He wasn’t opposed to me invading his hometown, moving into his backyard so to speak.  And as long as I was willing to accept that we’d never be able to be seen in public with each other again, things were golden.  At least I could have this.  Though always with the understanding that the second I wanted more and was able to find it, Will was history.
He never had to know I didn’t intend to take him up on the bail out clause.  Ever.  The realization should have scared me beyond belief, but I was as calm as if I’d just admitted the sky was blue or the Earth wasn’t flat.  The fact of the matter was it just was.
Embracing singlehood for the rest of my life wouldn’t be so bad if I could wake up like this each morning.

Book Excerpt - Gifted by J.A. George

Title: Gifted

Author: J.A. George

Release date: May 10th, 2015

Genre: Young Adult

Book Description:

“Why do birds fly? Why do lions hunt deer? Why does the sun shine and the moon glow? Because it must. I wish I could tell you why, I truly do. It mustn’t be easy, such pressure weighted on such young shoulders, but we do not always choose the lives we must lead.”

Avery Gray had no choice but to be different. She was not born that way; she was chosen.
After having met a special, silver-haired woman, and the handsome and enigmatic Theodore-James Connors, Ava finds herself in Hayven, a city separated from the rest of the world, where only gifters – ordinary people with extra-ordinary gifts – can go. With Theo, his friends, Hayven, her gift, and the ability to ‘travel’ in different colours, Ava must now accept that she can no longer classify herself as normal. As friendships develop, and Theo and Ava become closer than she anticipated, it turns out her new gifted life comes with a catch. With no choice or say on the matter, Ava must save a city she is starting to fall in love with; a city that has almost begun to feel like home.

Book Excerpt

I was ordinary. I went to school, spent time with friends, visited family, and ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But then again, almost everyone thinks they’re ordinary. People who think they are extraordinary seem to look rather arrogant to others. I’m extraordinary, but I’m not arrogant; I’m a future seer. Or more simply put - I’m psychic.

Review:
I have received this book as part o f a blog tour in Exchange of an honest review.
I really did enjoy this book and I think the best part about it are the characters, which re very well-written and interesting. Raine and Sly are different and complex characters and I think they fit well together.
Plotwise, the plot developed nicely and at the right pace. I think Renea did a great job with this story and these characters.
This is a good and light read.

Rating: Somewhere between Worth Your Time and Must Read (4 Stars)

Book Excerpt

“So tell me, Raine. Did you only accept my date because you were caught in a compromising position last night, or were you being genuine?”
Oh dear. “A little of both.” I arch my eyebrow.
He chuckles. Is that good or bad?
“Well, I take that answer then. Okay, well, I better get going. You probably have work tomorrow.”
“I do. I really enjoyed our date, though.”
“Me too. Is it okay to call you, tomorrow perhaps?”
“I’d like that.” I smile.
I walk Sly to the door, and before I open it, I feel him gripping my waist, tugging it toward his hard body. I take a few steps back from him, because I know what’s about to happen, and I’m not sure I’m ready for it. I have to be honest with him. “Sly, you don’t want this. I’ve lost my only child, and my husband left me for another woman. I’m broken. My heart is no longer whole.”
My words don’t seem to affect him as he makes his way back to me, like a predator going after his prey. This time, I don’t move.
